Tree Improvement Alberta, in cooperation with West Fraser Mills and with support from the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta, is hosting a field tour on September 13 and 14 in the Hinton and Edson area. The tour will provide a history of tree improvement on the Hinton FMA from a sivliculture, site characterization and regenerated performance context and a discussion on orchards as a delivery mechanism for tree improvement yield.
The tour will happen rain or shine, so please come prepared for September weather in the foothills! Lunch will be provided. Attendance on the tour is capped at 30 people, so register early and not later than August 31. Note: presenters must also register for the tour.
An optional dinner for $38.00 will be held at the HInton Centre on September 13th. Richard Briand will speak on the History of the Hinton FMA.
